 Monochromatic Kitchen

White painted cabinets aren’t always a cold white know you, they also come in a vast assortment of creams and linens and glazes, each oozing warmth and comfort- if you know how to pair it up with everything else that is.  This kitchen featured here above was put together in mostly monochromatic tones.  To keep it from becoming boring, the trick is varying heights, varying tones, and most of all varying TEXTURE.  Different sheens and mattes allude to shades of the same color scheme.  You can play this up in many ways, from the rough stone-like backsplash tile, to the subtle gloss on the countertops (in this case Quartz), to the matte finish of the cabinets.  Lighting is also very important; task, accent and general lighting are all featured in this kitchen.

Natural Quartz Countertop by Cambria

We see a lot of people upgrading to Granite when choosing a new countertop to cap off their three-years in the making kitchen project, but have they done their homework or are they just following suit for their own McMansion?  Don't get me wrong- there is a phenomenal beauty to a natural slab of stone with irregular veining, but I prefer quartz.  I like the classic appeal of consistency offered in quartz, not to mention it is twice as strong as granite.  The quartz colors from the Cambria line are timeless and fun, especially the new rusty-red Reading, or the ever popular Victoria (as shown on the island above). Cambria Quartz is non-porous, making cleanup easy and preventing food and moisture from penetrating its surface — the main source of growth for harmful bacteria.

Remember, this is an investment in style and bigger real estate return.
