Wall Panels are a beautiful way to add visual interest to a room, and you would be surprised how simple it is to achieve! The image above is an applied moulding stained to match the wood veneer on the walls, much like a burlap moulding like this one:
This particular moulding is #00967 burlap moulding by Alexandria Moulding.
This gorgeous panel moulding looks more difficult, but just requires a 1" x 4" board flanked by a base cap moulding. What ties it all together is the painted finish.
The mouldings used here are #CR688 Base Cap, and #03186 Board.
So go for it, you don't even need to have the panels all the same size. A large bottom panel and large top panel (above a chair rail) works well, just be sure the top and respective lower panel have the same widths. For panel sizes, look at the proportion of your walls and consider framing a large piece of artwork and flanking it with narrow panels for example. Applied Panelling done well is timeless. |

Oh la la! The Paso Doble Wallpaper print from Elitis in France is just as sultry as it sounds. The large scale lace mesh pattern stands out on the irridescent background. 
It is available in four different color combinations. 
I could see this paper as a great feature wall in a ultra chic loft, as it is very playful. |

"Frames" by Taylor & Wood is an interactive wallpaper that you can customize by placing your own images or drawings in each of the framed boxes. Fun for a kids room, or any playful living space in your home. This would be a great wallpaper for your mudroom/ family comunication center; just keep a stack of colored post-its and markers for family members to leave messages in the frames. Get creative and emblazen a favorite quote, or take out those Prismacolor Markers and let loose. 
If you want a wallpaper with a more detailed and intricate choice of frames, I love "Familjen" framed wallpaper by Lisa Bengtsson! This wallpaper looks a tad more substantial with classic oval and rectangular frames in heavier lines. |

Climb out of hibernation and embrace colors for inside your home! Designers Guild has some great fabric, wallpaper, paint and home accessory choices to help you get there! This handsome jacquard weave cut velvet fabric is based on a fragment found in the Windsor Castle. While I am all for authenticity of the Augusta pattern in Greville Wedgwood, I am also all about this fantastic color choice. The sad pale blue couldn't be prettier against the light grey-sage background. Like a rainy Spring morning; so very fresh! The Arundale Girardon Wallpaper is a large scale damask pattern wallpaper (this is the Magenta), does it not remind you of huge blossoms of pink peonies? The color is flirty and fun, perfect for an ensuite bath, or parlour. It is sultry and sweet, just the inspiration I need for Spring! |

Wall Stickers are getting a lot of love lately. They are showing up everywhere from retail stores, to residential spaces. Whether you keep them forever or opt for temporary flare, they really spice up the spaces they are in. Wall decals were featured in the design of the living quarters for NBC’s The Apprentice. Here is the Flock design in silver on a sumptuous plum painted wall.  If you watched Oprah this week and watched the Clean Up Your Messy House Tour, you probably noticed the tiny but fabulous redecorated apartment in the East Village. Instead of busy artwork on the walls, the design team chose sleek black silhouette images from Blik Surface Graphics to keep it simple and stylish. Above the bed they chose the Birds of a Feather graphic in midnite, and the Chandelier in black in the main area. The black is set off very nicely against the light sea foam green.
There are so many images to choose from that would suit any taste. Go classic and select a large graphic in a nature or baroque motif, or customize your space with a oversized Monogram. If you are looking for something fun and whimsical, check out the RoCoco chalkboard, or the word puzzle decal. Wall stickers are also a fantastic way to dress up the nursery or a kids room without having to commit to a crazy paint color on the wall. They can be customized too- so if you can imagine it- a stick-up can be made that would be perfect for you.
